Lots of people would like a business opportunity that allows them to work from home at some time or another. A few do it but most don't. This can be for a number of reasons, whether it be a confidence issue, a timing issue, a product issue or just a complete lack of know how about working from home.
People that end up working at home usually end up working with an industry that they have knowledge about, and, by and large, this is probably the best way to get started as it cuts down the research time, thus the start up time.
This usually results in you or whoever it might be renting yourself back to your original company as a "consultant" at a higher fee than your original wage, however, by the time you take everything into account, your own car, office, stationary etc you will usually end up close to where you started and with the same grief.
That's why making money online has such a big advantage over most working from home business opportunities because you lose the overheads and you can work on your own terms, particularly where the hours are concerned, as you are not limited to the usual 9-5 routine.
Ideally you want to start an online business in your spare time and build it up to the point where you can leave your job and work full time on it. This will involve research if you are not going to work within the market you already know and identifying a good product base that you can sell to customers. This has to be done either way. No products = No Profit.
Ideally look for something electronic to sell as a download such as a piece of software or ebooks with good content. There are numerous items out there from working at home ideas to breeding worms for fishing.
This is where you have to start and think about the detail, otherwise mistakes will be made and money will be lost.
Try and research a particular market thoroughly because this is the way it can be niched down to a particular product that has a market big enough to make a profit, but little competition. This then has an affect on your advertising costs and should make them much cheaper, particularly on Adwords.
An example of this is the fishing market, which is massive, but growing your worms for fishing is a smaller market, however, growing lug worms for fishing is even smaller and therefore a good niche to produce a good book on.
Create a good one page sales page for a web site, include an opt in box, if you want and a standard Paypal account so people can pay you and you are ready for business. Just copy and repeat once a week with different markets, in tandem with any advertising you have chosen and within 3-4 months you will see good returns.
But remember it is all in the detail and if you miss parts out of your business, product, market or customer research you will not succeed as quickly.
